What is an eSIM and how does it work?

Answer

An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM that allows you to activate a cellular data plan from a carrier without having to use a physical SIM card. Once purchased, you receive a QR code or manual activation code to download the profile directly onto your device.

Is my phone compatible with travel eSIMs?

Answer

Your device must be carrier-unlocked and support eSIM technology. Most modern flagship smartphones (iPhone XS/11/12/13/14/15/16 series, Samsung Galaxy S20/S21/S22/S23/S24 series, Google Pixel 3 and newer) support eSIMs. You can verify by dialing *#06# on your device; if an EID number is displayed, your device supports eSIMs.

How do I install my eSIM?

Answer

iOS: Go to Settings > Cellular (or Mobile Data) > Add eSIM, then select Use QR Code and scan the QR code provided in your order confirmation.

Android: Go to Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs (or SIM Manager) > Add SIM / Download eSIM, then scan your QR code.

Manual Setup: If you cannot scan the QR code, you can manually copy and paste the SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code provided with your purchase into your cellular settings.

When should I install and activate my eSIM?

Answer

We recommend installing your eSIM on your home Wi-Fi before you travel. Don't worry—your plan timer won't start until you land and connect to a supported network abroad. (Note: Un-activated eSIMs remain valid for up to 180 days after purchase.) You can also install your eSIM at your destination but you'll need Wi-Fi connected to install. Note: Plans are typically valid for 180 days prior to activation. Once connected to a supported local network, your plan’s validity period (e.g., 7 days, 15 days, 30 days) will begin.

Do I need to enable "Data Roaming"?

Answer

Yes. To connect to the local partner network abroad, you must turn on Data Roaming for your eSIM line under your cellular settings. Be sure to keep Data Roaming turned off for your primary home SIM card to avoid accidental roaming charges from your primary provider.

Does my eSIM include a phone number or SMS?

Answer

Unless explicitly stated otherwise in the plan details, travel eSIMs are data-only. They do not come with a local phone number or traditional SMS service. However, you can make voice/video calls and send messages using data-based apps like WhatsApp, FaceTime, iMessage, Skype, or Telegram.

Can I use my eSIM as a Personal Hotspot (Tethering)?

Answer

Yes. All of our eSIM plans support hotspot and data sharing with other devices (such as laptops, tablets, or other phones).

Can I use my primary physical SIM and eSIM at the same time?

Answer

Yes. Dual SIM technology allows you to keep your primary physical SIM active for receiving calls/SMS from home while using your travel eSIM exclusively for mobile data.Tip: Turn on Wi-Fi Calling on your primary carrier line before traveling so you can receive home calls and text messages over your eSIM data connection.

Can I reinstall my eSIM if I accidentally delete it?

Answer

Yes. An active eSIM holding a valid data plan can be reinstalled using the original QR code on the exact same device. However, eSIMs cannot be transferred to a different device once activated.

How do I top up or add more data?

Answer

If you need more data or are extending your stay, simply purchase a new eSIM plan from our website. Once purchased, scan the new QR code to install your new eSIM profile, and you can safely delete the old, expired eSIM from your device settings.
